AH31  The Viking Horse & Blue Lagoon All year round

Highlights:
  • Horse riding tour
  • The Blue Lagoon

Tour Description:

This combination of the Viking horse riding tour and AH29 The Blue Lagoon is for those who don’t have too much time but still want to make the most of it.

Get  acquainted with the Icelandic horse which is a breed that has remained virtually unchanged since the Vikings brought it to Iceland in the 9th century. Enjoy a one hour riding tour on the outskirts of the capital.

After the healthy riding experience, we head to the Blue Lagoon. Once there you have a variety of recreational options such as bathing in the milky blue water, massage and spa treatments or simply walking in the Blue Lagoon’s spectacular surroundings. For a unique experience indulge yourself in an outdoor massage or one of the spa treatments available. We recommend booking these well in advance by calling +354 420 8800.

Return to Reykjavík is available at 15:00, 17:15 and 19:00. Driving time from the Blue Lagoon to Reykjavik is around 50 minutes.

Please note:  Entrance fee to the bathing area is not included in the tour price.

Very attentive staff at the farm, made sure we had the correct fitting helmets, and all had a good sense of humour and made sure we were comfortable throughout. We were out riding for about 2 hours which is much longer than we thought. Blue lagoon transfer was via the main office though with a lot of waiting around and changing onto different buses which reduced the amount of time we thought we would have at the Blue Lagoon, so we had to change our departure time.

The Viking horse riding tour was fantastic and we had a beautiful ride out. Well worth taking the time to do this tour as the scenery is lovely and the ponies very patient and gentle. The Blue lagoon tour was not as good as i had expected. It was 33 euros each to get in and too expensive for what you got. If you need to choose between the two then do the Viking horse tour.

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun and unique way to experience the beauty of Iceland! The horse riding was so much fun and the horses do very well, whether you are an inexperienced rider or not, the guides split the group so that the more experienced riders could go a bit faster than the rest. The scenery was gorgeous and the horses are all very well behaved. It was great to end the ride with a soak in the Blue Lagoon. The only thing I would say is that I didn't think it was very well marked that your payment to get into the Blue Lagoon was not included. The friend I was with knew this, but I was unaware until we got there. Other than that, it was a really great experience and we had many other tourists wishing they had gone as well.

Very good tour. Description said 1hr riding but it was nearer 2hrs. They provide nice warm suits and helmets. My tip would be to take something to cover your ears under your helmet as that wind can be brutal! The horses are lovely and the trail is nice. Enjoyed it. It's about 15-20 back to town then you get on the bus to blue lagoon which is 45 mins drive away. We arrived at 2pm so you may wish to take a pack lunch. We had treatments at blue lagoon which are expensive but if you can't treat yourself on vacation, when can you! Got the 5 pm bus back and that was plenty if time there. Excellent trip overall
